How it started
S'MORE started long before it had a name.
It started when I gained more than 20 kg and found myself feeling unfamiliar in my own body. There's a much longer backstory to how the weight found me, but there isn't enough room on this page for all of that.
So, instead of rambling on about how I gained the 20 kg, I'd rather tell you how I lost it. And no, it wasn't easy.
How it went
I started where anyone in this situation naturally would... by getting a personal trainer. "Train more, move more, be disciplined," or so I thought. Little did I know that weight training makes you even hungrier than you already are, which wasn't exactly helpful in my situation.
Plan B was Pilates. I thought a lower-intensity workout might make a difference to my appetite and, surprise, surprise, it didn't. Eventually, I started wondering whether I was looking in the wrong place, and like any woman who has run out of sensible places to look, I went to TikTok.
Not exactly where I expected my journey to begin.
How it went
I came across a video from a gynecologist who briefly mentioned inositol for women struggling with their hormones. So naturally, I got in my car, found some inositol, and started taking it. For the first few months, I didn’t notice much. But like Theodore Roosevelt said, "Nothing good comes easy."
It wasn't until the four-month mark that I started feeling a difference. It was gradual, but it was noticeable enough that I started recommending inositol to nearly every woman around me.
As the months went on, I started researching—a lot. I wanted to understand why it had made such a difference for me, what was actually happening in my body, and whether other ingredients could work alongside it.
That curiosity eventually became the beginning of S’MORE.
THE GROWTH
Over the next two years, I worked with formulation experts in the Netherlands, Miami, and, of course, South Africa. There was a lot of trial and error, a lot of back and forth, and a lot of research that led to more research. Eventually, we got to a version I felt proud of.
S’MORE Cycle & Hormone Support is the formula I wish I had five years ago.
Each ingredient has been researched and included for a very specific reason. I’m not going to tell you it’s a miracle. It isn’t a replacement for medical care, and no supplement can promise the same experience for every person, but for me, it felt like a missing piece of a much bigger puzzle.
The present
As it stands today, S’MORE to me means simply, more. More clarity around the things we’re often expected to figure out alone. More curiosity about our bodies instead of judgment. More honesty in the way we speak about women’s health. More considered choices, and more things worth keeping around.
I know not every woman grows up with a village. Not everyone has a mother, older sister, aunt, or trusted friend who can explain the changes happening in her body.
A lot of women learn everything in pieces. A conversation with a friend, a late-night Google search, a TikTok saved at 2am, or a group chat full of people who are just as confused as they are.
The future
I wanted S’MORE to become the friend with the information. The one you can ask without feeling embarrassed, the one who does the research, tells you what she knows, and is honest about what she does not.
Cycle and hormone support is where S’MORE begins, but it’s definitely not where it ends. My intention has always been to build a brand that grows with women. Not only through one stage, one concern, or one product, but through every stage of life, with products, information, and conversations that meet them there.
There will be S’MORE for different women, different bodies, and different seasons of life. This first product took two years to develop, and now it’s yours too.
